Personal Health Division -- Clinics -- Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Screening

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is a pattern of birth defects that results from drinking alcohol during pregnancy.

Children born with FAS may be small in size, have abnormal facial features, and have behavioral problems.

The health department screens children who may have been exposed to alcohol during pregnancy.  Following the screening, the child and family are referred to a diagnostic clinic where a 'care plan' for success is developed for the child.

There is no charge for this service.
