School-based Health Services

School-Based Health Programs

School Based Health Programs support students, their families, and school staff to promote health and wellness in the school environment. In addition to providing education, training, and guidance to the school community, the school health team may provide additional services such as: 

  • Onsite mental health therapy
  • Training and assistance with medication administration 
  • Management of illnesses and injuries
  • Communicable disease education, surveillance, and prevention
  • Support for students with chronic health conditions 
  • Assistance and support with medical emergency response teams 
  • Connection to health care and community resources
  • Support in the development of health-related policies and procedures 
  • Health education for students
  • Immunization information

School Health Support Services

All other Benzie and Leelanau County schools are offered support and guidance in addressing Communicable Disease and Immunization related issues.
