At the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department, we offer routine vaccines for all ages, regardless of your insurance status.  Appointments for vaccination are available weekly in both our Benzie and Leelanau locations.

COVID-19 Vaccines

New Recommendations (last updated September 13, 2023):

COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for everyone ages 6 months and older in the United States for the prevention of COVID-19. There is currently no FDA-approved or FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine for children younger than age 6 months. CDC recommends that people stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccination. There is no preferential recommendation for the use of any one COVID-19 vaccine over another when more than one recommended and age-appropriate vaccine is available.

People recently vaccinated should wait two months before getting an updated vaccine. Those who have recently had a COVID infection can wait up to three months before getting an updated vaccine. Children 6 months to 4 years old who have not received a COVID vaccine are advised to receive a primary series with two Moderna doses, or three Pfizer doses. The doses should be from the same manufacturer.  (BLDHD does not offer Pfizer vaccines).
